Built 2002 to 2003. Okume skins, Sitka spruce sides made by Wolfe, inside has cedar, mahogany, and clear pine. West Systems epoxy with 205&6 interior 207 exterior then clear coated at Toressen’s. Hardware is a mixture of Mark Stubble and Sarns, with Harken air blocks. Carbon fiber mast #18 from WMIYC mold (lightest ever made due to carbon fiber) with adjustable Sarns step, Ron Sherry Boom and Tiller, BBS sail, 5/16 adjustable staymaster forestay with next size up wire then Sarns uses with quick pins, plank 190 lbs made of 100+ year old ash top and bottom (floated up from Muskegon Lake compliments of Brian Torresen) with sitka spruce core, Sarns bull nose runners, BBS hull, plank, and mast cover for transporting, canvas runner bag, and ice stands. Cock pit is 20” by 65”. Of the three boats we made, it is the heaviest since I was never planning on selling and made it to last. Sail is like new. Ice Picks
(Life Insurance on the ice)These are made of wood with a spike in each piece, so when you go through the ice you can get yourself out. Each one has two coats of Spar Varnish and a line with a cord lock to keep the two pieces together. We had a members son sail onto thin ice and break through with his DN . He used these to get himself out even before we could sail back to him. A necessity if you are going out on the ice $5.00 each plus shipping and handling. Purchase ten for your club and we will send you one free.
Quick Pins
WMIYC had these Stainless Steel pins machined. Many club members have been using this style of pin for several years and the biggest advantage is ease of use with gloves. No one has had a problem with these coming off when properly used. Once you use these you will never go back to pins with rings or any other type of pin. We will sell these as a set 6 for $36.00 plus shipping and handling.Reminder: On the tang adjuster be sure to put a bolt with a nylock nut in the hole just above the bottom one, this will prevent the tang from widening. Then these will not release.
