Preschool Aquatics 1
- Enter and exit water using ladder, steps, or side
- Blow bubbles through mouth and nose for 3 seconds
- Submerge mouth, nose, and eyes
- Open eyes under water and retrieve submerged objects, 2 times (in shallow water)
- Front glide, 2 body lengths
- Recover from a front glide to a vertical position
- Back glide, 2 body lengths
- Recover from a back glide to a vertical position
- Roll from front to back
- Roll from back to front
- Back float assisted
- Front float assisted
- Beginning treading water (with support)
- Kicking on front (with support)
- Kicking on back (with support)
- Alternating arm action on front
- EXIT SKILL: Enter water independently, using ladder, steps, or side. Travel at least 5 yards, submerge to mouth and blow bubbles for 3 seconds and then exit the water. (Can be performed with assistance)
- EXIT SKILL: While in shallow water, glide on front at least 2 body lengths, then roll onto back and float with support for 3 seconds, and recover to a vertical position. (Can be performed with assistance)

Preschool Aquatics 2
- Enter water by stepping in shoulder-deep water
- Exit water using ladder, steps, or side
- Bobbing, 3 times
- Opening eyes underwater and retrieving submerged objects in chest deep water
- Front float, 3 seconds
- Front glide, 2 body lengths
- Recover from front float to a vertical position
- Back float, 5 seconds
- Back glide, 2 body lengths
- Roll from front to back
- Roll from back to front
- Treading water in shoulder-deep water for 5 seconds
- Combined arm and leg motions on front, 3 body lengths
- Combined arm and leg motions on back, 3 body lengths
- EXIT SKILL: Glide on front for 2 body lengths, roll to back, float on front for 5 seconds, and then recover to a vertical position. (Can be performed with assistance)
- EXIT SKILL: Glide on back for 2 body lengths, roll to front, float for 5 seconds, and recover to a vertical position. (Can be performed with assistance)
- EXIT SKILL: Swim using combined arm and leg actions on front for 3 body lengths, roll to back, float for 5 seconds, roll to front and continue swimming for 3 body lengths. (Can be performed with assistance)

- Enter water by jumping in shoulder-deep water
- Fully submerging and holding breath for 5 seconds
- Bobbing, 5 times in chest-deep water
- Front float, 5 seconds
- Jellyfish float, 5 seconds
- Tuck float, 5 seconds
- Recover from a front float or glide to a vertical position
- Change direction of travel while swimming on front or back
- Treading using arm and leg actions for 15 seconds in should-deep water
- Combined arm and leg actions on front, 5 body lengths
- Combined arm and leg actions on back, 5 body lengths
- EXIT SKILL: Step from side into chest-deep water, move into a front float for 5 seconds, roll to back, float for 5 seconds and return to a vertical position (Done independently)
- EXIT SKILL: Move into a back float for 5 seconds, roll to front and recover to a vertical position (Done independently)
- EXIT SKILL: Push off and swim using combined arm and leg actions on front for 5 body lengths, roll to back, float for 15 seconds, roll to front and continue swimming for 5 body lengths (Done independently, but assistance is given when the child takes breaths)

Level 1
- Enters and exits water safely
- Puts on lifejacket on deck and enters shallow end
- Jumps in water with little assistance
- Blow bubbles with mouth in water
- Blow bubbles with whole face in water
- Bounces up and down in chest deep water while maintaining upright position (10 times)
- Bobs head completely under water (5 times)
- Walks 5 yards in chest deep water
- Floats when supported on front/back
- Kicks when supported on front/back
- Flutter kick on front and back with kickboard (1 length of shallow end)
- Swim 5 yards unassisted
- EXIT SKILL: Enter the water independently using either ladder, steps, or side and travel 5 yards. Bob 3 times and then exit the water.
- EXIT SKILL: Glide on front for 2 body lengths, roll to back and float for 3 seconds, and recover to a vertical position.

Level 2
- Float on front and back for 5 seconds
- Front glide (no kicking) for 5 seconds
- Front kicking glide for 5 seconds
- Whip kick on front and back using kickboard for 1 lap of shallow end
- Rotary breathing on wall
- Front crawl for 1 lap of shallow end
- Back crawl for 1 lap of shallow end
- Puts on lifejacket and swims 1 lap of shallow end
- EXIT SKILL: Step from side in chest-deep water, move into front float for 5 seconds, roll to back, float for 5 seconds, and return to vertical position.
- EXIT SKILL: Push off and swim 5 body lengths on front with combined arm and leg actions.
- EXIT SKILL: Push off and swim 5 body lengths on back with combined arm and leg actions.
- EXIT SKILL: Swim one width of pool unassisted without stopping.

- Basic scissor kick understanding
- Basic understanding of elementary backstroke
- Tread water for 30 seconds
- Knee dive
- EXIT SKILL: Jump into deep water from side, swim front crawl for 15 yards, tread water for 30 seconds, swim elementary backstroke for 15 yards, and exit the water

- Tread water using flutter kick, scissor kick, whip kick, and rotary kick (30 seconds each)

- Swim 10 yards under water
- Swim in straight line when pushing off wall

- EXIT SKILL: Jump into deep water, swim front crawl for 25 yards, change direction, and swim elementary backstroke for 25 yards.
- EXIT SKILL: Push off and swim breaststroke for 15 yards, change directions, and swim back crawl for 15 yards.

- EXIT SKILL: Push off, swim breaststroke for 25 yards, change direction, and swim back crawl for 25 yards.

- Back float (6 minutes)
- Tread water with rotary kick (5 minutes)
- Tread water with clothing (4 minutes)
- Swims with clothing continuously (6 minutes)

- 2 lap medley of front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and butterfly with open turns
- Open turn for front crawl, back crawl, sidestroke, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and butterfly
- Basic front flip turn understanding
- Basic back flip turn understanding
- Tuck surface dive
- Pike surface dive
- Approach, hurdle, and dive on board
- Retrieve items at bottom of pool
- EXIT SKILL: Perform shallow-angle dive in deep water, swim butterfly for 25 yards, change direction, and swim sidestroke for 25 yards.
- EXIT SKILL: Push off, swim front crawl for 50 yards, change direction, swim back crawl for 50 yards, take a breath at the side, and retrieve items from bottom of pool.

- EXIT SKILL: Swim 500 yards continuously using any 3 strokes, swimming at least 50 yards of each stroke
- EXIT SKILL: Jump into deep water, perform survival float for 5 minutes, roll onto back, and perform a back float for 5 minutes
- EXIT SKILL: Perform a tuck surface dive, retrieve object at bottom of pool, perform pike dive, retrieve object from bottom of pool, and swim to the side.

Level 8
- This class is designed for those students who have passed WLYC Level 7 or equivalent. It teaches students the basic aspects of lifeguarding including first aide, saves, and long distance swimming.
- EXIT SKILL: Swim across White Lake. (The exact path will depend on wind and waves on the day of the swim. Possible paths: 1) Yacht Club to Sylvan Beach/Channel 2) Yacht Club to Indian Bay)
